emerges into breakers of half-formed houses,
skull-eyed, bursts into columned detail,
culminating skyward in the cast spume
of spire. Unrealized figures stroll
in the foreground, unaware of the chaotic
deluge that, just before sweeping them away,
was caught and frozen in this civilized form.
