In September 1976, I spent a week in Fairy stone Park, near Stuart, Virginia. I had vacationed there as a child. Late September, Fairy Stone Park is meant to capture the particular quiet of the spot, the water calm and trees just beginning to turn. My life was a bit more turbulent and this was a welcome quiet spot. I don't believe this painting has ever been exhibited outside my home. This is its debutante ball.
