Formal Verse - Triolets:

I haven't written many of these -- sorry:

An Obscene Triolet

Here goes! An obscene triolet--
I'll even put you in it!
For you're no shrinking violet;
Here goes! An obscene triolet;
I'll write while on the toiolet--
It won't but take a minute.
Here goes! An obscene triolet--
I'll even put you in it!

Sui Generis

Pigs are generous with suet--
Indeed, chop suey generous!
It doesn't take a long pursuit,
For pigs are generous with suet--
You sing out "SOOEY!"--then you do it.
Brutal, but it's them or us.
Pigs are generous with suet--
Indeed, chop suey generous!

When You Smile

When you smile at me like that,
I think we'll be all right.
We're getting gray and much too fat,
But when you smile at me like that,
You shed your years in nothing flat--
My arteries pulse with light.
When you smile at me like that,
I think we'll be all right.

It Goes Like This

The singer says please sing along--
He thinks he's in the groove.
God! I wish I had a gong!
The singer says please sing along--
"I need your help to sing this song!"
My lips politely move.
The singer says please sing along--
He thinks he's in the groove.

It's Sadduccee How Pharisee

Vision can drive you mad, you see--
Though one so fair I see...
The past alone is sad to see,
But Vision can drive you mad, you see;
Having seen what I had to see,
What future dare I see?
Vision can drive you mad, you see,
Though one so fair I see...

Triolet Trio Con Brio With Frijole Omelette

I call this verse form tree-o-lette -
Though some say "try-a-lay".
"WHO? WHO dares - " cries a tree-owlet,
"Not call this verse form tree-o-lette?"
Soft twilight, blue to violet...
Good time to try a lay -
But I call this a tree-o-lette,
Though some say "try-a-lay".

Some call this verse form try-a-lay,
A tiny trial or trial-lette,
Not perverse, like a trio-lay,
So call this verse form try-a-lay -
Three cheers: Olé! Olé! Olé!
T'ree Olés! Whee! Oh let
Us call this verse form try-a-lay,
No trial at all, this trial-lette.

Let's compromise with try-o-lette
(The "try" we call a "tree").
A little lay? Try a layette?
Let's compromise with try-o-lette.
"God only makes a tree-o-lette" -
Let's shun Tree-o-latry
And compromise with try-o-lette
(The "try" we call a "tree").
